Healing properties of Aloe Vera and its effects on hair
The healing properties of Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis) has been used for thousands of years, as early as 1750 BC. Most commonly people think to use the gel of this succulent for sunburns, but did you know that it’s healing properties are also beneficial for hair?
Using Aloe Vera in your haircare routine can help strengthen your hair. Due to the many different amino acids and vitamins A, B12, C, and E that Aloe Vera has, it helps your hair follicles over time.
Aloe Vera has also been known to help with an inflammatory condition called seborrheic dermatitis that affects the scalp and causes dandruff and itchiness. Some researchers even believe that the compound aloenin promotes healthy hair growth and lessen breakage.
How does Biotin affect hair?
Biotin, also known as Vitamin B7, has been commonly used to promote hair growth by stimulating keratin production in hair. It also helps with strengthening hair follicles, improving scalp circulation, and even hair thickness. You can find Biotin in our Biotin DHT Blocker Shampoo as well as our Caffeine Catalase Conditioner.
Black Seed healing properties and how it affects hair
Black Seed (Nigella sativa) oil comes from the fruit of a plant native to southwest Asia and is understandably one of the best natural ingredients you can add to your haircare routine as it has just about everything you need for healthy nourished hair and scalp.
This plant contains a powerful antioxidant called thymoquinone that can help with a wide range of things related to your scalp and hair. Black Seed oil has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal properties when applied to your hair all while locking in moisture.
Speaking of moisture, Black Seed oil is great for healing an itchy scalp related to dandruff and the inevitable flakes that come with it. This is done by improving the root strength of your hair.
If hair loss is something you’re struggling with, this herbal remedy is also a great ally because when massaged into the hair, Black Seed oil increases blood circulation to the hair follicles which results in hair growth over time.
How does Caffeine affect hair?
Caffeine, which is commonly related to the coffee plant, has been in more recent years implemented in haircare products. The main reason is how caffeine has an impact on DHT when applied topically to the scalp. While DHT protects your scalp from inflammation it makes your hair follicles smaller in the process.
When caffeine is applied to the hair it blocks an enzyme responsible for breaking bonds in the hair. This process eventually leads to your hair grow thicker.
You can find caffeine in our products DHT Blocker Shampoo and our Caffeine Catalase Conditioner.
Note: Drinking excessive amounts of coffee isn’t going to help with hair growth
Healing properties of Saw Palmetto and its effects on hair
Saw Palmetto (Serenoa repens) is a small shrub like palm tree found in the Southeastern part of the United States. The fruit from this tree is used medicinally to help regulate androgen hormones in the body in addition to having anti-inflammatory properties as well. The most common reason Saw Palmetto is used is to help treat hair loss in both men and women.
While helping hair loss is the main reason Saw Palmetto is used, it also helps strengthen the hair and to help it become thicker while fighting inflammation and improving the scalp. This also means new hair growth as a result of fighting inflammation.
